Meet Kim Rathe

Founder of The Invisible Edge

It all begins with an idea.

For Kim Rathe, this idea was more than just a saying, it was a calling.

Kim believes every young person has an invisible edge—the inner strength that unlocks potential. Her journey into mental performance coaching grew from a calling to guide and support teenagers and young adults in discovering that strength for themselves. Through tools that build confidence, reduce stress, and foster resilience, Kim empowers Gen Z to rise above challenges and thrive both in sports and beyond.

A proud graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Kim earned her Master’s degree in Education, where she was recognized for her academic and athletic achievements. As a standout member of the UNL track team, Kim was an All-American pole vaulter and later returned as a graduate assistant. Bringing her leadership skills full circle, Kim went on to coach at the high school level, where many of her athletes went on to become state champions.

For 19 years, Kim served as an educator for Lincoln Public Schools, where she impacted countless students, staff, and fellow educators. In 2022, she took a bold step into consulting, leveraging her experience as a development coach to support both school districts and businesses. This is where her love for coaching the mental game was born, and her realization that her passion to coach leaned more toward Gen Z than Gen X.

Kim founded The Invisible Edge out of a commitment to her values and a passion for unlocking human potential. She is driven by her belief in the power of mindset, resilience, and self-trust to transform performance and possibility. Through The Invisible Edge, Kim empowers athletes and young adults to face pressure with clarity and compete with authentic confidence.

Kim connects with MOMs Running Point Podcast and helps open your mind to new opportunities to be your best sports mom. In two episodes Kim and Tawa discuss different types of sports kids, how kids develop their sports personality, and how to parent and support your children to their innate strengths.

I’ve been blown away by Kim’s positivity, and certainly feel empowered how she uses her area of expertise to learn her kids and how she uses it to be a better sports mom.
